So excited to find these on the beach this morning with blue bottles and blue buttons. This is two photos of the same individual. But there were lots and it's the first time i have seen them on this beach. Have only ever found glaucus one summer before and they were the glaucus marginata. Was a southerly blowing after a northerly yesterday

Bamboo Pit Viper (Trimeresurus gramineus Shaw, 1802).

Habitat: It is found in bamboo groves and forests, usually near streams.

The range of this species has been restricted to southern India. It is also rarely seen near Harishchandragad and some other mountain ranges of Western Ghats aka Sahyadris in Maharashtra.

SURPRISED TO SEE SUCH A CASUAL YAWN, THANKS TO OUR CAMERAS THESE DAYS, THEY HAPPEN TO HELP IN SUCH MOMENTS, TAKEN WITH CANON 100-400MM SO HAD PROBLEMS WITH DEPTH OF FIELD.

Just for interest, added cycad seeds being sorted . Nobody seems to know who brought them in or where they came from, but many of the seeds have similar holes, similarly empty. None of our cycads have cones now, so thinking this beastie came in with the seeds.

1st sighting of a Metaxyonycha beetle. Characteristics:

• About 1,5 cm long;
• Cinnamon-colored on the head, legs and thorax;
• More opaque colored carapace, with 2 front and 2 central spots.
