Description
Date: 09/21/22
Collector: Roshni Panwala
Location: Hammocks on 20th Apartment Complex
-Found on grassy lawn not near any leaf litter or trees; grew isolation
-Brown, spongey pore surface; after sometime drying it produced some yellow ooze droplets; Pores on the hymenium
-Cap is soft and coffee brown; convex shape but almost flat
-Stipe is bulbous and gets darkers in color about 1 cm from the cap
-Adnate hymenium
Based on the pore/stipitate combination of this specimen, I originally thought it was a boletes species but after some recommendation for Tylopilus, I researched and saw that my specimen does have very similar feature including its symmetrical color. It is still a type of bolete fungus but may likely be Tylopilus tabacinus.

I cut the stem part way a week ago (see photo #1) but decided to let the mushroom keep growing as there aren't many mushrooms here. You can see that it did indeed keep growing.
