I picked this sprig a couple years ago to bring home to verify identification. Someone subsequently cut down the old tree/shrub. The source tree was about 10-15 ft tall, one main trunk about 6" diameter at breast ht, curving up then over to horizontal where most branches were. I presume lower branches were always trimmed by deer. My sprig is now of course dry and brown. Date approximate until I find my notes. This is the only specimen I've seen in the Umpqua Valleys, though I'm told thete are others around.
