Common in the upper elevation settings of Butte and Walkerville on road cuts and other exposed sites of probably old low-pH mine tailings. This species definitely escapes cultivation, but like many other exotic plants in Butte and Walkerville, the scope of the distribution of this introduced herb appears to be confined to this area of Silver Bow County. This site is taken on a slope to the west of Montana Street, Walkerville, Silver Bow County, Montana.
