First time seeing this bird in my yard.
Rarity first discovered by Janice Davis at her feeder. Janice has done wonderful job with native landscaping and pollinator garden. Very active with wildlife.
Come here and rescue plants. This site is being demolished in two weeks for a parking lot and digitals storage center. These liatris easily pulled up without a shovel
Spotted at John Bunker Sands Wetland Center.
We had a wonderful evening at John Bunker Sands looking for moths and other bugs. It was a blast!
Could this be "Passionflower bee"?....feeding on Passiflora lutea. Still trying for better photo.
We see hundreds of these bees when the horsemint is in bloom. They are small, with green eyes and a yellow shield-like marking on the face (on at least some of the bees). They are very active, rarely stopping to rest, and they will "bump" any other insect that lands on the horsemint blooms. They do appear to gather pollen. I have had no luck identifying them so far. These photos were taken over several days and I have included some with other bees/wasps for scale.
Went up to this park up in Richardson -- they are trying to be proactive to folks overfeeding the ducks at "Duck Creek Linear Park." There's indeed a large population of ducks, but there's a lot of lovely vegetation all along the creek too. That's good! :)
Spotted lots of other things along with ducks too. :)
Looks like this guy tried grow two flowers! Any information on why this would happen or what effect it can have?
