Over the course of an hour watched well over 100 blackbirds cross over and stage in some nearby pines before leaving to their evening roost.

Blue heron caught a garter snake, but the garter snake hung onto a little branch with its tail for dear life. The heron tried thrashing the snake to dislodge it for about 10 minutes until the snake finally let go.
Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, Georgia. January 23, 2021.
Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) nectaring Liliaceae- Garlic Chives (Allium tubeerosum), 11/13/2020, The Landing’s Sparrow Field “Pollinator Garden Berm”, Skidaway Island, Savannah, Ga.
I think this one might be a sharp-shinned. It seemed closer in size to a blue jay than a crow. I couldn't get a good shot of the tail through the window before it flew off. The tail did look pretty squared off in flight though. I found a fresh pile of feathers and blood in the snow, likely from a junco or house sparrow.

Photographed in light rain. The birds are nesting on the support cross members under Mariana's walkway.
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron (Nyctanassa violacea) with a fresh Blue Crab watched being caught directly in front of me, The Landing's Brackish lagoon # 3. It flipped the crab onto its back, then flipped it again and crushed the shell, turned it, and swallowed.
I love Blue Crab and I'am envious of the bird's technique! Scroll through the four images!

June 6, 2020; Walton Copunty, Georgia. A low, blueish-gray cloud cover was keeping the temperature at 75 degrees, but the humidity was still high making for a sticky morning. My attention was drawn by several Blue Grosbeak‘s calling. I followed the songs until I spotted two males and one female. http://williamwisephoto.com/photographyblog/blue-grosbeak-blue-heron-georgia-birding
