Description
For a species so common in VA, it really surprises me that this is the first one to ever appear in my pollinator garden which is full of milkweed plants. This one was here for a couple of days. then gone. It only visited a Joe Pye.

Turkey Tangle Frogfruit (Phyla nodiflora) Native, perennial, sprawling, mat-like plant in the Vervain (Verbenaceae) family that grows in moist disturbed soils, pond edges. A.ka. frog fruit, sawtooth fogfruit, or turkey tangle. Peak bloom time: March-November. There are several subspecies.
