Mississippi Bar has a grove of Heart-leaf Milkweed growing that needs to be tended to from time to time to help eradicate an infestation of the orange Oleander Aphid (Aphis nerii). Shown is iNaturalist "dickwood" trimming away an infected area of Heart-leaf Milkweed in the hope that by keeping this milkweed healthy the Monarch butterfly females will oviposit on the leaves. So far this year we have not seen any Monarchs at Mississippi Bar.
Volunteered in my front yard. There is a lot of them for the first time ever.
