From 1 organic Rumex-Sorrel plant I bought about 3 yrs ago. Came up as sprouts in several pots, (even though the planted and broadcast seeds of the bolted plant did not come up at all). … Birds do see everything!
Is very tender, tasty & lemony, spinach-like raw, but raw gives me kidney stones, I guess that’s how it leaches calcium. Oxalates - damn! Cooked, the leaves melt to limp & shapeless. Still flavourful, but unsure how to serve it A layer in lasagna shared by many?.
It is the ideal host plant for larvae!
Grew 2-3 ft tall on strong woody stems. Normally it grows straight up, but this one was thirsty early and had to reach out sideways to be in direct sun for longer in a day.

Scattered growth pattern. Under fir and cedars in duff and wood chips. Others groupings of unknown LBMs. Small striking orange dry caps flattening out with maturity. White around the margins. Smoky closely spaced gills, detached.
Stipe is cream and darkens slightly on pressure to darker yellow. Fibrils at base. Equal and straight. Smell unremarkable.
