Massive newt graveyard!! We found this completely dried out pond through Google Maps, and instead of finding live newts like I had hoped, we came across thousands of dried up dead newt larvae all over the pond bed. I’m really hoping this is a normal occurrence, but sadly I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the result of climate change and increasing drought conditions in California. Definitely need to make another trip back here once/if the rains hit.
