This plant observed growing in the sand and wrack substrate of the upper sandy beach. The semi-succulence of it's leaves help it survive in this harsh environment.

Patch found in higher elevation of salt marsh in sandy substrate

Seen in a flat, dry area in the mid marsh.

Found in the drier, upper marsh in large clusters.

New pollinating a Red Verbana plant. Small with yellow and black coloring

Located on hard surface to hold onto. Many clustered together, covered with barnacles. Closed and visible in low tide. grayish in color

Found in the mid marsh. Unfortunately, we visited too early in the spring to see the purple flowers produced by the Limonium californicum.

Found in large numbers in higher elevations along the upper marsh.

Found growing on sand in the higher portion of the marsh. Has yellow flowers.

Found in the mudflats close to the water of the bay. They were all stuck together and alive.

Found along the side of the trail. About a meter in diameter.

Found hidden within other plants on a west facing slope. It was about 0.3 meters from the trails edge.

Found right alongside trail growing in a large patch. Located about 20 meters from the cliffs edge. I've never seen a live Chilicothe seed pod before, so it was exciting.

Found on North facing slope, under the shade of Torrey Pines. It was in a patch right alongside the trail.

Found on west facing slope, towards the Pacific Ocean. Located about 50 meters from the cliff's edge.

Another species making up the wrack in the upper zones of the beach. Home to many flies and fleas.

Many of this species were seen in the area. not observed in only one area, but all around.
