Description

Locality: NEW ZEALAND AK, suburb of Saint Johns, University of Auckland Tamaki Campus.

Habitat: At base of Arthropodium cirratum.

Identification: Strumigenys perplexa (Smith, 1876). Dealated queen.

Description

Locality: NEW ZEALAND AK, suburb of Epsom, Withiel Thomas Park.

Habitat: Remnant rock forest. Nesting on soil under a rock, adjacent to a domestic garden. Hundreds of workers and a few alate queens observed. The rock also had a queen Pheidole vigilans under it.

Identification: Solenopsis sp. ST1. Queens.
