After the morning field trip, I went to Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge -- nice long trail with some good elevation change. Lots of neat plants too! :)
Visual: This millipede was about half an inch long and reddish-brown in color.
Defining characteristics: The legs on the millipede where in a set of two. This distinguishes them from the centipede, which has one set of legs.
Habitat: They can be found all over the US.
