Found within 2 feet of the lake, definitely not a domestic escapee. The 630 acre domain has been in private hands for approximately 80 years, and the lake which is a quarter-mile above an old farming area has never seen domesticate planting of this sort.
Like a monarch in size but beige-yellow with a bright orange rump. Rear wing appendages suggest member of the swallowtail family, but which member? I suspect that it is an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.
