Description

Dead stalks from Summer/prior season. Zero Tricholoma murrillianum fruiting here this season(I hypothesize) due to drought and extreme temps/heat wave in June. Usually this spot is prolific with Western Matsutake and other Tricholoma by this time of year. All dominant mycoflora/species encountered here today are at a stage of development usually encountered here in early September(not mid October). Very early growth/young fruits of Xeromphalina, Strobilurus, Gomphidius and Suillus. No Tricholoma, Cantharellus or other large mycorrhizal species seen(also no sign of picking).

C. umbellatus? Morphologically, petal shape (and sepal color) seemed almost more consistent with photos of minimus, but the ranges do not overlap.
