Adult. Considered Africa's most powerful eagle, this forest eagle's prey can be as large as monkeys and forest antelope. It is considered to be the African analogue of the Harpy Eagle and sometimes referred to as the "King of the Forest".

Was hoping for a better shot of this when a bird swooped in and caught it. Was perching along White Clay Creek.

Additional comments? - Single bird standing on the rocks amongst rock pools. Stayed in the one place for at least half an hour. Was still standing there when we left.

Additional comments? - First one sighted was busily fishing in the shallow waters. It then sat out to dry. The second one flew in a little way further along the sandy edge and sat preening as well.
