(Six-petaled Star Flowers, Full description coming later in the week.)
Cacti that were observed growing in a distant open field - they were not observed during previous visits / years, but that doesn't mean they weren't present. Temperature was around 66 degrees F / 16 degrees C. Sunny but with wind speeds reaching up to 20 mph.
Horsetails that were in varying lengths along this particular section of the trail. Part of this section appeared to have been trimmed or possibly affected by flooding. Temperature was around 66 degrees F / 16 degrees C. Sunny but with wind speeds reaching up to 20 mph.
I have made two previous observations at this same location, first in 2020 at https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/56353706, and again in 2022 at https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/134614848. (I can't promise I'll have another observation in 2026.) (Description added on 4 May 2024.)

Not cultivated - gifted to our yard by a woodland critter a few years ago, we just let it go wild, and it is getting huge! Hoping to collect seeds this year.
