Found after rain. Was very docile and let me touch it without getting too skittish. Was aided with the identification on the Texas Snake Identification Facebook page.
I thought we ran over a snake. I got out of the car and went backwards to see if we hit anything, and it turned out to be a Scarletsnake! And we didn't hit it, it was completely fine! New subspecies for me, lifer for my dad. Definitely relieved he didn't accidentally run over his life. I handled it for a bit, and it responded just like a healthy snake.
My lifer! (Herping with Anthony.)
Flipped
At least 4 feet in length. Definitely thirsty too.
Seen in home by sister
DOR. Would’ve been lifer if alive :/
