Kikuyu Grass (Cenchrus clandestinus)Observer

This grass is flowering at the moment. Flowers are easiest seen on short mown lawns where the flowers form white threads above the level of the grass. In my lawn (which is not mown short), the filaments are hidden below the level of the leaves. The filaments can be as much as 5cm long with anthers on the top. The female flowers are separate and I haven't seen these yet.
