Many in the grass in the forest.
Species: Procambarus Pictus
This was found to be a wild species because it was living in and around the sand near a river. The species was found during clear sunny sky weather, with the temperature in the mid 80s. The environment consisted of moist sand lining a river. The area was fairly close to some marsh lands. The shape of the arthropod's head and claws lead to the identification of a crayfish, and the black color and region of Florida it was found in lead to the identification as a Black Creek Crayfish. The Florida fish and conservation commission site helped with identifying the animal. http://myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/imperiled/profiles/invertebrates/black-creek-crayfish/
