A small red and black Handsome Fungus Beetle of the Family Endomychidae, about 4 mm in length. The antennae are clubbed and there are two longitudinal grooves on the posterior edge of the pronotum, characteristic of this family. While usually smooth, this one is pubescent. Most of the legs are red-orange with a black band on the upper tibiae. The last antennal segment of the club as well as the first two antennal segments are orange, the rest are black. These beetles feed on fungi and mold. Found low to the ground on a rock wall at night, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
