Thick and glossy, grey to sandy coloured in different lights. Unafraid of vehicle. Hooded eyes.
OK, not a lot of snake visible here, but it looks striped to me. I wasn't about to wake it up from it's sunbaking. It was just on the side of the track amongst the bracken.
Small, palm-sized. In a constructed lake in a wildlife sanctuary, but not fenced off and next to bushland, lake on a natural watercourse, may or may not be 'captive'. Knockrow.
