Taken at Arenal Hanging Bridges. San Carlos. Costa Rica
I'm going back to some of my earliest wildlife images. These are scans from old prints and slides. This bass was caught by my then-father-in-law in Lake Nasworthy, San Angelo, TX.
(That's not John Denver holding the fish. Back in that era, he looked like me.)
Found under the mulch in the garden. Feeds on slugs and earthworms, which we have in abundance.

Plain gray snake with darker head, approximately 8" long. Scales appeared to be keeled upon inspection of photographs.
Found hiding under a damp log. It burrowed under some straw when I disturbed it but didn't leave when I uncovered it. Didn't try to hide and mostly ignored me, even when I was taking photos of it up close.
~6" long, found under damp rotting log on side of trail. Very docile and sat calmly in my palm when I picked it up. When I put it back next to the log, it went underneath but wasn't in a hurry about it.
Elizabeth and I went over to Stella Rowen Prairie -- it's a neat place. :)
