Growing out of a dead log
Growing from dead hardwood on the ground
That is "procera" or "ameriprocera" or whatever our American parasol is going by currently.
As I found it today: somebody or something had knocked it over, or the stem got munched on & it fell down
For the same Parasol (Macrolepiota procera) the 2 days before, cf. inaturalist.org/observations/181926697 and inaturalist.org/observations/181596219
I mixed but mostly Hemlock Forest

Forgot to check for latex.. small caps no more than 1cm wide. I've got a feeling this might be Entoloma.or Lactarius
Spores sizes are within range, more importantly the Pleurocystidium is a good match as is the Cheilocystidia
