Claw of a freshwater crayfish.
Not great pics but at least its in flower
First treatment today. In grazing group one other. Young adult, quite small, ginger. Tagged with the other one in today's grazing group of two ..probably has burrow near the other one's burrow.
Rising still.
I suspect that this is one that I treated once before on 17 July and then s/he moved away. This is a property two properties along, maybe half a kilometre from where I first saw her. The previous observation is at 239534914 and is tagged with this one.
Second treatment given 8 September by pole and scoop
Third treatrment 14 September by pole and scoop.
Fourth treatment by pole and scoop 22 September. Patches of the keratinised skin have now fallen off.
Not found 28 September, will look again
NB: female carrying nesting material. Evidently at this elevation nesting is later than at lower altitudes.
I assume these belong to some type of seaweed. There were a lot washed up on the beach after some rough weather.
One large and one tiny size, mating (?)
Pink flowering form
