This is a second time I’ve found a Texas tortoise (which is an IMPERILED status species and also a KEYSTONE species) on my property in the Woodlawn Neighborhood. The last time I found one was 14 mos. ago. This is wild for a couple of reasons. Either there is a breeding site somewhere near my home (which is right near culebra!!!), or the lack of rain is causing them to become disoriented and wander away from their habitat. If it is the latter, it is only going to get worse due to climate change.
