I am guessing that this is either a boisduval's blue or a blue copper, but I don't have a lot of experience. Do the coppers often perch with wings partly open? The upper surface is bright blue with strong black and white framing and a cell-end bar, suggesting a male blue copper. But I could be wrong.
Frequent along the trails at about 9,000 feet. Small, about 1/2 inch resting with folded wings.
One of a dozen or so in a little swampy stream crossing, along with a few other interesting odes (suspected epiaeschna, cordulegaster obliqua). Will return later without toddlers in tow.
