Description

Scilla siberica is an extremely tolerant and invasive cold weather blooming plant native to Turkey. They were brought to America as an ornamental plant and quickly became invasive. Leaves are basal and the flowers bloom in clusters of 3-4. It readily spreads itself even if roots are broken.

Description

Growing from buried wood chunk in dirt pile on farm trail. Clustered. Gills yellow to mildly yellow-green. Cap orange-yellow fading to light-yellow at margins. Taste is very bitter and unpleasant.

When the juvenile cormorant came up from its dive with a fish, it was immediately mobbed by the gulls who caused the fish to be dropped. Ring-billed gulls are vicious thieves. You can see the cormorant with just its head above the water about to buried under gulls.
