2nd flush of the year. Growing off of well decayed logs in a disturbed woods. They smell like a mix of sweet flowers and gasoline. They can grow singularly or up to a cluster of 4. Heavy blue bruising. I have pictures from pins to end of life.
Appropriately making a spooky face.
GPS way off.
Growing on a hardwood stick. Cap hygrophanous. Stem base bluing. Pleurocystidia with rounded or indistinct hooks. All microscopic photos were from a gill section mounted in phloxine (1 drop), congo red (1 drop) and NH4OH (2 drops).
These were found growing directly from dung by weiliiiiiii. Workman confirmed that these match P. castaneifolius and his microscopy composite is posted with his permission.
See also this thread.
We are now calling the collections which used to go by P. castaneifolius P. olivaceus.

Se trata del mismo sitio y sustrato que en esa otra observación, así que problablemente se trata de la misma especie de hongo.
Also contains a vinagrillo.
On cow manure.
Found on horse manure. The farm is owned by a family that brings in horses from all over the US. Identified by Workman, photos by lipa.
Not a great specimen due to damage, sampled anyway as unusual. Maroon fibrous/velvety cap. Yellow gills. Pink/red stipe. Initially thought Tricholomopsis but spores rusty orange. Growing from pine cone.
