Desert nightsnake found dead, hanging from garage door.
appears red patterned in the summer, and white patterned in the winter
appeared most frequently in the wild
In desert behind subdivision. Seen immediately after returning with spouse to show her a Gila Monster that I saw. The Gila Monster was gone but the coralsnake was within a couple of meters of where I saw the Gila Monster. Later that evening, the coralsnake was found again about 8 meters away. It was behaving somewhat erratically, writing around, shoving it's snout into the ground, and eventually doing a series of barrel rolls before lying still. Checking on it the following morning, it had not moved and is presumably dead. Perhaps the Gila Monster bit it?
Taken with Android Phone: There were literally hundreds of these spiders. Approximately 1 spider every 3-4 feet or closer. They often build webs that go from the tops of the shrubs(1-2 feet high) to the edge of the side walk. Sometimes the webs extend into the walking area of the sidewalk(see pic #5). This is definitely not an area for small children or pets to go for a walk at night without a flash light. I have nicknamed this area Black Window Ally! Note: This is not the only area where I am seeing these females. The entire park area has them depending on the ideal structures and shrubs to build the webs.
