Middlesex County, City of London. Private property (London Hunt Club). Sandy woods above Thames River. First found in 2016 by Mary Gartshore and Audrey Heagy during targeted searches for COSEWIC assessment. Just one plant, browsed by deer. Buds were present at time of observation but no flowers. Associate species: Quercus alba, Acer saccharum, Ostrya virginiana, Carex spp., Lespedeza violacea, Gaultheria procumbens, Solidago flexicaulis. Observers: Will Van Hemessen et al. (FBO hike)
Thought it was a giant bumble bee then thought it looked like a flying shrimp.
