Gorgeous almost entirely chartreuse spathes
Located on mossy rock near the road that crosses the marsh at the Bashakill Wildlife Management Area in Sullivan County, NY.
A sample of this lichen was collected under special permit from the New York State DEC (Department of Environmental Conservation) and sent to the New York Botanical Garden in NYC. It was identified by Dr. James C. Lendemer as:
Cladonia rei Schaer.
and retained in the Steere Herbarium. Sample BKWMA-1063, catalogNumber 04273058
