Beautiful red colors in a very green forest. I have not yet seen this particular moth in this area. It’s left wing looks injured but it could take off and fly about 5’ in distance and about 1 - 2’ above the ground. Need som help identifying please!
On Pseudotsuga menziesii cone.
Found on the sidewalk on my walk home, the feathers were just starting to break through, obviously too young to leave the nest. I cannot identify a bird when it’s this young, I’m not sure it’s even possible haha. If anyone has any suggestions that would be fantastic.
Many individals found covering the ground up hill of pond, and surrounding a small vernal pool. Accompanied by swordtail ferns, false lily-of-the-valley, and Vanilla Leaf.
