This moth was photographed in the parking lot of a country club where it had apparently been a road kill. If it fell off the grill of one of the several cars in the lot, that might put its geographic origin in question, but the clientele of that club is mostly local (e.g. Atascosa Co.) so I think a local origin is a safe bet.
