Mature fruiting body beneath Douglas fir, lodgepole pine and vine maple.
Harvested specimen for later culinary use.
Sliced into strips and dehydrated(will pulverize cracker crisp strips in coffee grinder into powder and incorporate with kosher salt).
Large troop in backyard mulch pile. Older specimens had rings and were starting to crack on their caps.
First time searching for, and possibly finding matsutake (?). The smell is more floral than expected, not like gym socks to me. Want to be careful not to confuse with Amanita.
Well that’s funnest milk cap I’ve ever seen
Found at the Bolt Creek burn, surprised to see blonde/yellow morels growing at high altitude in a burn site.
