Field Notes - This spider is a resident of the compost bin. Which must be a spider's smorgasbord with all the different invertebrates there. I am interested in knowing what the fluid is that is on the spider's right hand side (the photos left)

Commercial fishing bycatch. Fish recovered lodged in the mouth/throat of a 5kg red emperor (Lutjanus sebae). R.emp was trawl caught and landed by MG Kailis vessel in waters adjacent to Point Samson WA and thence shipped to us here in Perth. No info avail to us on type of fishing ground. We see bycatch in the throats of larger fish quite often, presume in the crush and gasp of a trawl net they become more intimately acquainted than either party likes! Pictured knife blade a few mm short of 7" (US knife).

Someone had taken the tail feathers!
Field Notes - A spider on a orb web. The abdomen has three peaks. Distinct pattern with dark brown markings.
