Isn't She Beautiful?
Because why should the drakes get all the love? I think she is lovely.

Really poor photos, but much better visual ID.
One of many among many other Passerine species. This one feeding on cultivated (not by me!) Photinia x fraseri.

I went on a neighborhood walk just to make sure I'd documented Straggler Daisy blooming for a December record. I managed to find 9 spp of flowering urban lawn weeds. Among them, Straggler Daisy is the only native species. The small handful of plants which were blooming were either in a lawn tucked close to a warm house or A/C compressor or at the edge of warm, dark-colored pavement along the edge of a street. I barely got documentation of the Straggler Daisy: I had a camera failure and the first several images I took were lost.
I found just a few flowers of Crete Weed blooming in the lawn at the post office, but at least a couple of flowers had already gone to fruit, suggesting that plants were blooming earlier in December.
