My lifer Long-tailed Weasel. I saw what I thought was a ground squirrel out of the corner of my eye and was surprised/delighted/excited to see that it was this instead. Spent a few seconds running through the rocks and concrete near the path before disappearing in the nearby shrubs.

After chasing away two other coyotes, saw this guy come back to the Aids memorial area and lay down for a nap. He popped up when he heard other coyotes howling in the distance (in response to sirens), and he booked it in their direction.

Saw these two coyotes cross JFK and head over towards the Aids memorial. One of these - the one with the black slit on its tail (as opposed to the triangle) - is not frequently in this area. Or at least I haven't seen it often. They went to the trail above Nancy Pelosi drive and then got into a little challenge with a male coyote. He chased them out of the area, but not far, then he turned back towards the aids memorial and these two headed towards JFK.
