Description

C.erythrocephalus or possibly C. kula

Red - orange mycelium
Very dark red almost black KOH reaction
Dry textured stipe and pileus
Bright paprika red pileus, lamellae bright red slightly more orange than pileus.
Very strong vibrant red cortina remnants along stipe.
Surrounding plants inc: Eucalyptus obliqua, Acacia pycnantha, A. myrtifolia, Gonocarpus sp., Pteridium esculentum.

Description

Stem 10cm long and 0.2cm wide, dark brown base stem, paler towards cap, top of stem same colour as gills - grey. Cap 3-4cm diam, edge is pale, umbul darker. Gills attached to stem, growing in soil, 9 fruiting bodies in group. Spore print white (pics)
