Cap up to 3 cm. All parts blackening. On ground under spruce and ponderosa pine at about 9000'.

Note the unrooted tree png that demonstrates that this collection is more closely related to European material than North American material that has been called H. conica. It also shows at least 4 species in the H. conica complex, perhaps more. I sent my tree to Jean Lodge who confirmed my above conclusions and said she is working on this "messy" group.
