Wilder ranch

Grasses are continuing to grow after the controlled burn at wilder ranch. On the side of the trail where the burn took place you can see individual bunch grass plants and new growth coming from their burnt crowns. Growing In between the bunch grasses are annual grasses and forbs. Unable to see individual bunch grasses on the unburned side as all the new growth is coming up through a layer of thatch. Lots of mushrooms popping up as well. Not sure what they are. Saw some fairy fingers though! what an odd fungi. Slowely but surely working on my mushroom ID. Saw lots of American Goldfinches, Scrub jays, stellar jays, and black phoebes. Also saw a couple town-sends warblers in Santa Cruz today.
