I am from Michigan and I attended MMCC for science (2007) and MTU for geology (2010). I moved to South Dakota with my now husband so he could attend grad school at SDSM&T. While he was doing that I attended NWMSU for GIS (2012). We moved to Colorado briefly after he graduated and then I moved back home to Michigan while he moved to New Mexico for a BLM internship in 2016. He was hired on full time as the paleontologist/geologist for Prehistoric Trackways and Organ Mountains–Desert Peaks National Monuments and I joined him in New Mexico in 2017. We currently live in Truth or Consequences so he can commute to the BLM in Las Cruces and I can commute to the NM Bureau of Geology in Socorro. Living in the desert is very different from Michigan so I enjoy using the iNaturalist app to identify all the new things I'm seeing even if they are very common to anyone who is from here. I wish I had it during all the time we lived in other states too.
