I began growing California native milkweed in 2018 and started an amateur study of monarchs and their lifecycles. That led to learning about and adding California plants to my yard, which brought me to an exploration of the insects in my area and surroundings where I visit or volunteer. I work most frequently with The Sunshine Preserve, part of the Arroyo & Foothills Conservancy, and the Monarch Mile project in Burbank.

My current focus is on native bees, hover flies, butterflies, spiders, and other insects that make local plants a habitat. You can find some of my photos on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/bugsofburbank.
