Rooiels is surrounded by mostly pristine fynbos stretching from the sea (False Bay coast) and the pristine Rooiels River estuary into the Koegelberg Biosphere Reserve (KBR). My wife Dine and I are documenting the fynbos in the corridor that stretches from the sea and estuary through the Rooiels village to the KBR (Koegelberg Biosphere Reserve) beyond. Inaturalist has allowed us to photograph, document and research all the fauna and flora that grows, walks, crawls and lives in this corner of the Overstrand, Western Cape.
