I’m a bat enthusiast who dabbles in many taxa. These last few summers I have been fortunate to roam BC working on the
BC Parks iNaturalist Project

iNat Year In Review:

My photo gear:
  • 10x21 UV/LED Loupe usually held up to an iPhone 8 (great for photographing plants)
  • Canon 5dmk4 with a Yashica 100mm lens attached to a small extension tube + a Raynox M-250 adapter and a Kuangren KX-800 flash (spent a summer around Thomas Barbin and he got me hooked on insect macro)
  • Long lens setup is a very dusty Tamron 150-600mm on a 6D
  • & an OMAX 40X-2500X LED Trinocular Lab Compound Microscope with AmScope DSLR adapter
Moth light: UV flashlight:
  • Convoy S2 365nm UV

Everything is powered/charged with a Goal Zero Yeti 200x hooked up to a 50w Renogy solar panel.

Occasionally, I will also produce short videos:

Charismatic Minifauna on the Move - Coastal Bat Migration
