I still remember to this day when I found my first orchids in the Belgian Ardennes, a Dactylorhiza fushii and Gymnadenia conopsea, when I was 12. That's quite a while back now and over the years I found many of the orchids of Belgium and northern France. After working as a foresty researcher for the Flemish government, I've moved to Michigan.

After a very long hiatus, I've rekindled my love for botany, with a special interest in orchids as of May of 2024.

I'm going through Michigan's unknowns and the non-research grade plants and will try to identify as much as possible. It's been a great learning experience as it exposed me to the wonderful plants (and other organisms) here in this state. If you find that I've incorrectly identified a species, don't hesitate to call me out and I will withdraw my ID. My goal is to learn, but also to be as accurate as possible.
