I have degrees in biology and environmental science and have spent my life in the woods and fields of New England. I am most into insects, lichens, mosses, ferns, mollusks, seaside flora and fauna, geology, foraging for wild edibles (especially mushrooms), and "botanizing while on holiday" which is what I call my obsessive desire to identify insects, lichens, plants, etc. while on vacation, when nothing looks remotely familiar.
