"Gotta observe em all"

21 year old undergraduate student studying Biological Sciences (and minoring in Environmental Studies) at the University of Southern California.
I am a student judge with the American Orchid Society and am a volunteer at both NHMLA and the Huntington Botanic Gardens.
My main interests lie in orchids (particularly those in genus Paphiopedilum), birds, fish, and flower-visiting insects (particularly hover flies, leps, and hymenopterans).
My current ID strengths are orchids (especially Asian and Latin American epiphytes) and that's about it, although I am slowly getting better at North American non-passerine birds.
Most of my observations are centered in the Los Angeles area.
As a note, I often make observations for various species I find in nurseries, gardens, supermarkets, etc. These can include shellfish, fish, frozen exotics, and cultivated plants. As such, they will be classified as "captive/cultivated" in the data quality assessment.
