As urban development continues to expand in Spokane County, Washington's wildlands, identifying plants (and occasional insects, when they hold still enough) in the conservation areas helps me appreciate what is protected. It is good to see how many people are doing the same.

I appreciate all who take the time to ID, especially when I am wrong. As many others have mentioned, iNaturalist is increasing my observation skills, although I still have a long way to go.

My references include a variety of paper books and online resources. I have and try to use Flora of the Pacific Northwest by Hitchcock & Cronquist, but all the unfamiliar terms and abbreviations are intimidating.
