African striped weasel 3 compressed
The dogs barked this creature up a tree in the night and it was still taking refuge there in the morning. By this time the weavers were attacking it as it was in a tree next to their nesting tree. It did not appear very comfortable climbing and was very slow in descending once the dogs were locked away. I had to encourage it down the tree and it scuttled into the shubbery and remains hiding under a rock. It can be heard grumbling when the dogs approach. I think it is a youngster - it is smaller than the recorded adult size.
